Taiyo Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Mariko Nakabe) has been selected again two years in a row for the “2026 WHO prequalification and recommendation acquisition and WHO recommended equipment listing promotion project for developing countries” spearheaded by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW) of Japan.

WHO (World Health Organization) prequalification and recommendation are intended to promote the efforts of Japanese companies to be listed in the WHO compendium of innovative health technologies for low-resource settings, contributing to improving medical standards in developing countries while promoting the international expansion of high-quality Japanese pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.

With this support, we will strive to contribute to clinical settings and society through the development of Wearable Surgical Lighting System OPELAIII Cx that can be used in a variety of surgical environments. Worn on the head, OPELAIII Cx provides excellent mobility while matching the illuminance, shadow reduction effect, and high color rendering of ceiling-mounted operating lights.
