The OPELAIII Cx, the flagship product of Taiyo Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Mariko Nakabe), has been awarded the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026, hosted by iF International Forum Design, the world’s longest-standing independent design organization, based in Hannover, Germany.

A panel of 129 design experts conducted a rigorous review of approximately 10,000 submitted designs from 68 countries and regions around the world. Our OPELAIII Cx received high praise in the following three areas, leading to its award.

1. Groundbreaking Innovation: We have realized the wearable surgical OR light through a new, unconventional approach.
2. Thorough Usability: We pursued intuitive, stress-free operation based on a thorough user perspective.
3. Excellence in Ergonomic-Driven Design：At the heart of this award-winning product is a deep commitment to the medical community. From the meticulous selection of materials to the finest details of the product design, we prioritized the health and comfort of doctors working in demanding environments.

By implementing thorough ergonomics, our design aims to minimize physical strain and maximize performance, ensuring that medical professionals can focus on what matters most: patient care.
