Oil money has led to the installation of high-level medical devices, but substantial investment in infrastructure and other areas is still needed. |
Countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates that have benefited from oil money are home to a large number of expatriate doctors from other nations, particularly Egypt. The chief class doctors in major private hospitals are mostly Europeans and Americans. Advanced devices such as CT and MRI are chiefly installed in major institutions such as national and university hospitals, with other hospitals mainly using widely available technologies such as X-ray or ultrasound.
We have delivered several hundred CT scanners, from the Aquilion 64 through to widely available equipment, and currently installation of CT and MRI equipment is continuing to make more and more progress. Other substantial business opportunities also exist in the anticipated future demand in areas other than medical devices, such as construction machinery and the development of road and communications infrastructure. |

A strategic nation that stands at the crossroads of Europe and Asia and is aiming for EU membership |
In geographical terms Turkey is located between Europe and Asia, while in religious terms it belongs to the Islamic world. As it is aiming to become a member of the EU, however, its tariff and trade operations are modeled on EU rules. The healthcare system, including both hospitals and doctors, has a strongly European influence. |

A region brimming with business opportunities, particularly in the Mediterranean countries influenced by the French cultural sphere |
| The influence of the French cultural sphere is evident in countries such as Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, and although they are part of the Islamic world their image lies somewhere between those of the Middle East and Turkey. The other nations in this area are still developing. There are constant business inquiries about medical equipment. |
